Getting Here

The Sooke to Port Renfrew region, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, is easily accessed by ferry, plane, car or bicycle.

By Water

BC Ferries – has 3 major crossings from the BC mainland to Vancouver Island;

  1. Tsawwassen to Victoria (Swartz Bay)
  2. Tsawwassen to Duke Point (near Nanaimo)
  3. Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo

Other BC Ferry access options include;

  1. Powell River to Courtenay Comox.
  2. Saltspring Island to Crofton.
  3. Brentwood Bay – Saanich Peninsula to Mill Bay.

By Air

Fly into either Victoria International Airport (YYJ) , Nanaimo Airport (YCD) or by seaplane from Vancouver or Seattle into Victoria inner harbour.

By Road

From BC Ferries at Swartz Bay – take the Pat Bay Highway (Hwy 14) towards Victoria, take the McKenzie exit to Highway 1 going north towards Nanaimo, take the Langford/Sooke exit, go to the 5th. Set of lights & exit right on Sooke Rd/Hwy 14. This will take you right out to Sooke. About 1 hour.

From Victoria – go out Douglas St., it turns into Highway 1, towards Nanaimo, take the Langford/Sooke exit, go to the 5th. Set of lights & exit right on Sooke Rd/Hwy 14. This will take you right out to Sooke. About 35 minutes.

From Nanaimo – take Highway 1 south towards Victoria, take the Langford/Sooke exit, go to the 5th. Set of lights & exit right on Sooke Rd/Hwy 14. This will take you right out to Sooke. About 1.5 hours.

By Bicycle

Ride along the Lochside Trail that goes 29 km from the Sidney/Swartz Bay area to Victoria, which connects with the Galloping Goose Trail which goes 55km out to Sooke.
